Export a WhatsApp conversation

Create a text export you can review before adding it to a case.

1Open the conversation, then open chat settings and choose Export chat.
2Choose Without media for a smaller export. Your separate photos stay untouched.
3Save the TXT or ZIP somewhere private, then import it when you are ready.

Start with meaningful periods or events instead of editing every photo one by one.

1Choose a trip, celebration or month and select its photos together.
2Keep original files where possible so capture dates and locations remain available.
3Add one shared event name or caption, then correct individual details only where needed.

Clear names and dates make files easier to find and export later.

1Keep the original file and make a working copy before redacting anything.
2Use a plain name such as 2026-03 Shared lease instead of a legal conclusion.
3Check that pages are readable and note the date range before adding a category.

Relationship evidence can be sensitive. Review access and keep your own archive.

1Invite only people who need access and remove access when it is no longer needed.
2Download a complete archive periodically and store it somewhere you control.
3Remember that inactive-case files are scheduled for deletion after 24 months, with advance warnings.
